We absolutely love the different holiday decorations around the Disney World parks each year, but the Disney World hotels really take it up a notch.
Some of the Deluxe Disney World hotels don’t just decorate the hotel, but also create MASSIVE gingerbread displays that are beyond impressive. And we’re not just talking about small gingerbread houses, we mean HUGE houses, displays, and in this case, a carousel that MOVES!
Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, which is in the EPCOT resort area, we spotted this wildly impressive gingerbread display. Yes, it really is a gingerbread carousel that moves!
But this isn’t just any carousel — it’s themed as well! This year, the hotel decided to go with a Mickey’s Christmas Carol theme. Three of the four different horses on the carousel are themed to Scrooge McDuck’s past, present, and future Christmases from the film, while the last one is themed to Scrooge McDuck himself, complete with bags and bags of money.
The more you look at it, the more details you find, which we think is incredible!
And yes, this is truly all made out of gingerbread and other edible materials such as honey, flour, eggs, icing, eggs, dark chocolate, Grand Marnier, and more. This is the 24th year this hotel has completed a gingerbread display, which is why there are also 24 hidden Mickeys you can find in the display!
But that’s not all — there are also treats you can EAT near the gingerbread display! We decided to snag the Gingerbread Macarons with Gingerbread Ganache, which comes in a pack of four for $10.99.
The gingerbread flavor here is very strong, so if you love macarons but DON’T like gingerbread, this won’t be for you. While the cookie is light like a macaron, both the cookie and filling are gingerbread flavored, so they’re very strong! We also think this is a steal, considering macarons are typically anywhere from $3-$5 a PIECE at most bakeries. Getting four decent-sized macarons for $10.99 is great!
We also grabbed the Spiced Orange and Cranberry Bundt Cake for $5.79, and it was fantastic! It was so moist, and the spice cake and orange flavor mixed so well together. There were plenty of cranberries to add in that third flavor, and we think it’s a great size for the price as well. The sugar sprinkled on the top, along with the slightly hardened frosting, added another texture that was really pleasant. This is a must-try, in our opinion!
If you’re looking for a fun and free activity when you visit the resort this holiday season, take a trip around the different Disney World hotels and check out their beautiful holiday decorations. Sometimes, people end up enjoying them even more than the parks!
