7 CHANGES Happening in December in Disney World

We’re just as shocked as you are that we’re somehow almost to the LAST month of 2025 — it’ll be December before we know it!

Disney World

A new month in Disney World comes with new changes, because, let’s be honest — things are changing by the DAY around these parks, and it’s important to keep up with what’s going on so you stay in the know. If you’re visiting Disney World in December, these are the SEVEN changes you need to make sure you watch out for!

Restaurant Changes

There are two big changes happening at Disney World restaurants next month, and the first is that The Wailulu Bar & Grill at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will begin taking online reservations in early December.

Reservations will open up online on December 3rd, but the earliest reservation date will be for the following day, December 4th. Not only is this restaurant known for its delicious dining options, but the decor is also gorgeous, and you can look out the windows for stunning views of Seven Seas Lagoon.

Over at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, you also need to know that the popular Sangria University offering is moving locations in December! While it’ll still be located in the same resort, starting December 13th, it’ll be held at  Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood inside Gran Destino Tower instead of Three Bridges Bar and Grill.

This change also means that there will be TWO classes every Saturday and Sunday.

Annual Passholder Magnets

Annual Passholders, listen up! If you weren’t a Passholder in 2024 or you otherwise missed the magnets that were released during that year, you have another chance to grab them!

From December 2nd to December 19th, 2025, you can stop by Discovery Trading Company in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to grab three magnets at one time — Stitch, Hei Hei, and Timon and Pumbaa.

We know these designs were popular when they were originally released, so we’re thrilled many Passholders will get the chance to snag them! Remember that you do need to have your ID, as well as your Annual Pass (even if it’s just connected to your My Disney Experience App or MagicBand).

Holiday Events Come to An End

There are three holiday events that happen in Disney World throughout the month of December, which also means that when the month comes to a close, they’ll all go away! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom will end on December 21st, while Jollywood Nights in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will end on December 22nd.

EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays will also end in December, with December 30th being the last day to experience the festival’s offerings — yes, even though it doesn’t begin until November 28th!

We’re always bummed that it’s only a one-month festival, but we get it! It’s quickly followed by EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts, which we also love, so we can’t complain.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks

At the very end of December, if you’re visiting the parks for New Year’s Eve, first you’ll want to watch out for those MASSIVE crowds, but THREE of the four parks will be open much later than normal for New Year’s Eve fireworks! Magic Kingdom will have its Fantasy In The Sky Fireworks at both 7:30 PM and 11:50 PM.

EPCOT will have its Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration at 11:54 PM.

Finally, over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can check out the New Year Countdown Fireworks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at 11:57 PM! Animal Kingdom is the only park that won’t have a special show for the holiday, which makes perfect sense due to the safety of the animals.
