It is hard to believe that D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event happened two months ago.
During the D23 Disney Experiences Showcase, we got many new and exciting announcements about what is to come to Disney World. All four parks are getting something new. In EPCOT Test Track 3.0, along with a Spaceship Earth Lounge, will open in 2025. Hollywood Studios will be home to an all-new ‘Monsters Inc.’ land, which will feature the highly rumored and anticipated door coaster. Animal Kingdom is getting a massive overhaul, which includes re-theming DinoLand U.S.A. into a tropical Americas-themed land called Pueblo Esperanza. This new land will feature three brand-new rides. The Tree of Life will get a brand new show called Zootopia: Better Zoogether, which will open in the winter of 2025. Magic Kingdom is also getting a huge overhaul. The Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island will transform into a new area featuring two ‘Cars’-themed attractions. And we finally know what lies “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain” as a Disney Villains land will soon be built. But that is not all that is coming to Magic Kingdom, and we feel like people are just ignoring this LIFE CHANGING announcement.
While the Magic Kingdom is home to the Festival of Fantasy Parade, along with its two seasonal parades during Magic Kingdom’s holiday parties, there has not been a nighttime parade in years.
Well, that is all about to change because Magic Kingdom will soon be home to a new nighttime parade starting in the summer of 2025. This new parade is called Disney Starlight.
During the panel, it was announced that Disney Starlight would use “the latest technology to tell new stories about the characters you love.” Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro said that “Disney Starlight will add to that legacy” of these beloved nighttime parades. Disney Starlight will be “brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy.” The Main Street Electrical Parade used to open up with the Blue Fairy, so we love that this parade will pay homage to an iconic parade that is so loved.
This new parade will include the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, as well as characters from Encanto, Frozen, and Peter Pan.
We were honestly shocked that more people were not talking about this parade, considering Disney fans had been begging for a new nighttime parade. The good news is that it seems like Disney is listening to the fans and delivering on their requests, like with Disney Starlight.
We can’t wait for Disney to share more details on this new parade, as they promised that it will change the face of nighttime entertainment at Walt Disney World for the foreseeable future. Make sure to continue to follow along with AllEars for all the latest Disney news, updates, and tips!

About time Disney!!!
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such great news needs a lot of exclamation points!!!!!!!! So happy for this announcement.
I think Disney Corp. would prefer we ignore it. Then they can quietly shelve it like they’ve done so many other announcements in recent years. And no, COVID is NOT an excuse! These are announcements after pandemic.
