EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK Inside the NEW Tropical Americas Land Coming to Disney World

Disney made some huge announces about its theme parks at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

So many new rides and lands are coming to parks all over the world, including an Avatar land at Disneyland, a Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a Lion King Land at Disneyland Paris’ Adventure Park, a Villains land at Magic Kingdom, and more. After those announcements, Disney revealed new 3D models of many of those rides and lands so we could get a closer look.

The first thing we saw were models for the new Avatar-themed land coming to Disney California Adventure. The models were laid out with individual pieces and notes as if this were the model Disney Imagineers are currently working with — it looks like an active scene!

New Avatar land

We managed to get some good close-ups of some of the details this land will have, like the cool rockwork.

Rockwork

As you can see, this Avatar-themed land is decidedly different from Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This land takes inspiration from the second Avatar movie, as well as future movies in the franchise.

There seem to be a lot of water features.

We also got a look at Disney Adventure World, which will be the newly re-themed Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris Resort. We previously saw the model, but this one has a new addition…

Adventure World

…the addition is a new land inspired by The Lion King.

Parts of this land feel a little like Africa in Disney’s Animal  Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom vibes

The land will also feature a new Lion King attraction at Pride Rock — and it’s a log flume ride.

We were MOST interested to check out the model for Pueblo Esperanza, the new Tropical Americas-themed land that will be taking over DinoLand, U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom. It looks SO lush and tropical. It’s also even bigger than we imagined.

Here’s the entrance to the park from Discovery Island.

In the center is a sort of town plaza and a pretty fountain.

Towards the back is an ancient Maya temple where the new Indiana Jones ride will be located.

Here’s a look at the other side where you can see the Casita from Encanto in the background, where a brand new Encanto ride will be found.

See Casita?

We also got to see a full model of the Casita and the Encanto ride.

Casita

The ride will pick up with Antonio getting his gift, which is the ability to communicate with animals. You’ll get to take a fun ride through the Casita and see Antonio’s room, which has been transformed into a tropical forest.

Here’s what the top of the Casita looks like up close:

Puebla Esperanza will feature a third attraction, too: a carousel filled with beautiful wooden Disney animals to ride.

We got a closer look at one of the animals, and it was Kevin from Up! We have to say that this looked GORGEOUS in person. It’s beautifully crafted and painted. Our only concern is if these ARE made of wood, are they going to be comfortable to ride?

It’s Kevin

This park will also have what Disney has said will be a hacienda with the largest quick-service restaurant on Disney World property.

We can’t WAIT to learn more about ALL these new rides and lands. We’ll be keeping an eye out for even more news, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.

  1. I very much wish Disney would create an expanded World Showcase at Epcot. There are so many countries and cultures that are not represented at all. And the possibilities are huge. Think India, Southeast Asia, Africa, South America, Antarctica, and many others. Not every square inch of WDW needs to have a roller coaster.
