Some BIG changes are coming to Disney World’s theme parks. We are at the Disney Experiences Panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and we just got some huge news about Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom is set to get its largest expansion yet. On top of that, Dinoland, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is set to get re-themed to the Tropical Americas. Disney previously mentioned it had plans for the land that could include Encanto and Indiana Jones in the area. And now Disney has confirmed that the Dinosaur ride in Animal Kingdom is getting an Indiana Jones retheme!
That’s right folks — it’s OFFICIAL. An Indiana Jones-themed attraction is coming to the new Tropical Americas area, Pueblo Esperanza. It will replace the existing Dinosaur ride in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
We’ll admit we’re not too surprised by this news. Dinosaur is already very similar to the Indiana Jones Adventure ride in Disneyland as both use the same ride system, so this retheme seems like a change that makes sense.
An Indiana Jones attraction will be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While there is already an Indiana Jones attraction in Disneyland, this attraction in Animal Kingdom will have a completely new story. It will not be a copy of the Disneyland attraction and is promised to be different than any other Indiana Jones experience around the world.
This new Indiana Jones ride will take place in a perfectly preserved Maya Temple. Of course, Indy wants to check it out himself and he is bringing us along with him!
This new area will begin to break ground THIS fall and is scheduled to debut in 2027. We also found out the official name of the new Tropical Americas area. It will be called Pueblo Esperanza and it will be an 11-acre section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Not only will this area feature Indiana Jones and Encanto, but it will also feature one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World.

If you’re a big Dinosaur fan, you’ll want to get to Disney World sooner rather than later to get one last ride in to “go get that Dino.” Be sure to say your goodbyes to Dr. Grant Seeker, too.

This is shameful of company as big as Disney. This is old news of things they are going fo do. Maybe if people stop coming they can talk about how they will get them back.
