Well, This Is Odd. This Popular Disney World Park Is Sold Out on a Random Saturday in September

Let’s go to EPCOT. There’s so much to do (and so many snacks to enjoy) — it’ll be a BLAST!

For one, it’s home to some of the most popular attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Frozen Ever After. Additionally, you can experience seasonal festivals in this park, which feature a wide variety of delicious dining choices. Not to mention that the World Showcase itself is an amazing way to feel like you’re traveling around the world by only walking around one park. However, we were a little surprised to find the park completely sold out today. And then we remembered what day it is…and it all made sense.

Today is September 21st, which seems like a normal day…unless you remember a very popular song from 1978. A song that just so happens to play on Cosmic Rewind, and you’ve normally got a 1 in 6 chance of getting it when you ride.

Not ringing a bell? Let’s try something different — *clears throat* 🎶Do you remember, the 21st night of September?🎶 That’s right, today is September 21st, which is mentioned in the first line of the iconic song “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire!

Cosmic Rewind Standby Entrance (via Virtual Queue)

Since this is one of the songs you can get on Cosmic Rewind, a lot of guests have flocked to the park to experience the attraction with the song on this special day. However, to celebrate, “September” is actually the ONLY SONG you can get on Cosmic Rewind today, so everyone who experiences it, whether they realize what today is or not, will get to hear that song and go, “Wait a minute!”

If you have a non-date-based ticket or an Annual Pass, you still need to make a park pass reservation before your visit. But today, September 21st, park pass reservations are completely full.

Now, it’s important to remember that Cosmic Rewind does not have a standby queue, so all of these people looking to ride needed to jump in the Virtual Queue at 7AM, or will need to try again at 1PM. You could also ride via a Lightning Lane Single Pass (Disney’s pay-per-ride service), though Single Passes are completely sold out today. If you get to ride today, have FUN!
