We got some BIG EPCOT news out of Destination D23 yesterday.
Disney revealed that Test Track getting reimagined, the new firework show coming later this year, and the end of the EPCOT transformation is coming soon. It was announced that Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, will be opening on October 16th. With that, a new Moana meet and greet will open. But that’s not the only character who will be meeting guests in EPCOT.
It was also shared that starting today, September 10th, you can meet Figment at the Imagination Pavilion in EPCOT! Of course, we had to check this out for ourselves. We weren’t the only people wanting to see Figment, though. There was already a long line stretching WAY outside the pavilion for the meet and greet.
We also checked out the meet and greet area — these folks seem to have been waiting for a while. This is serious, people.
There are some cute details here — lots of creative touches to spark your imagination.
Then Figment came out!
He was excited to take photos with everyone.
After his initial introduction around 10AM, we headed to get in line. After about 2 hours (!!!) we finally reached the front and got to officially meet him!
Figment took the place of Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph in the Imagination Pavilion. We noticed in August that her meet and greet was gone.
Figment will continue to meet guests in EPCOT today from 10AM to 1:30PM and from 2:30PM to 5PM. For other hours, be sure to check the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app.

Is this a “scheduled” attraction so that those who have DAS can get a return time? I’m visiting the parks in a little over a week and Figment is my FAVORITE. I would rope drop this but it doesn’t open until an hour after the parks open and I’m afraid the line will be crazy since it’s so new.
Also, please tell me exactly where—is it in the same place as the Figment ride, or is it next door where the short film festival is?
