We are deep into the celebrations for Disney’s 100th anniversary!
The party kicked off in Disneyland earlier this year and is going to come to EPCOT in September. Disney isn’t just celebrating in the parks though — a new 100th anniversary-inspired short is coming this year and Disney shared a preview of it!
At Destination D23 in the Walt Disney Studios Showcase, Disney showed the crowd a preview of the Once Upon a Studio short. Disney asked that nobody take photos or video while the short was being played, but we’ll tell you a little more about it!
This short reflects on the last 100 years of Disney and starts with — you guessed it — Mickey and Minnie. Several Disney characters are on a photo gallery wall and start to jump out of the photos to get together.

Richard Sherman, a songwriter known for films like Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book, also appears in the short. He plays “Feed the Birds” on the piano which was one of Walt Disney’s favorite songs.
When it ended, the crowd gave it a standing ovation. It was incredible to see all of these different animation styles over the years all in one short. It was definitely a tear-jerker!
On IMDB, it lists the release date as November 22nd, which is the same day Wish is set to debut in theaters. So if you’re seeing Wish, expect to see this short as well!

I wonder how many characters will be in this short. If Anna & Elsa end up being in it, I really hope they will be in their Frozen 1 outfits & braided hairstyles. The Frozen 1 dresses are so iconic and the best looks for the sisters. I miss those looks so much 😓 We haven’t seen them in those looks since Frozen 1 and a little bit in Frozen Fever which was 8 years ago 😢 Seeing Anna & Elsa in their Frozen 1 outfits brings so much joy 💙🥹 If I see them again in their Frozen 1 looks, I might actually cry tears of happiness 🥹 I really hope we see Anna & Elsa in their Frozen 1 outfits & braided hairstyles for Once Upon a Studio and other upcoming Disney/Frozen related projects like Frozen 3
