The Latest TRON Changes Involve the TRAIN in Magic Kingdom

Every day we get closer and closer to there being a new ride at Magic Kingdom in Disney World!

TRON in Magic Kingdom

Yep, we’re talking about TRON. The coaster has been under construction for years now, but we DO have an idea of when it will open. Disney said that it will be opening in the spring of 2023. For now, we’ve been checking out construction to see how things are going, so let’s take a look!

Work seemed to pick up again after the area was slightly flooded a due to Hurricane Ian.

We saw that the concrete around the entrance is still being worked on.

Workers seemed to be digging out the area.

Working away

It looks like more work is being done around this concrete area.

What’s happening here?

The wavy concrete walls are hanging out while other areas of the ride are worked on.

These are so fun

Here’s a bigger look at the whole area!

How does it look?

As you can see, it looked like workers were planning on filling another area with concrete near the entrance area…

Something is happening

…and then they did — look a that new concrete!

Yay new concrete!

And, we finally saw some new train tracks!

We miss the train!

The tracks go through this tunnel under the ride and are for The Walt Disney World Railroad.

Woohoo!

Here’s another look. These tracks weren’t here at all a couple of weeks ago!

Oh, and there’s a REAL FENCE on the walkway ramp under the ride!

Check it out!

Work is also still happening on Tomorrowland Light and Power Co. (the store at the end of Space Mountain), which remains closed.

What’s happening?

We’re not sure what exactly they’re doing to the store, but we’re excited to see!

Lots of work being done

We also have noticed some more ride testing!

Ride testing!

Ah — how exciting. It’s awesome to see the progress being made on the ride, and it’s getting us even more hyped up to finally ride it when it opens next year.
