Sometimes things go wrong in Disney World.

You could be running late to a dining reservation, not get the Lightning Lane you wanted, or totally forget that Magic Kingdom closes early on the day you’re in the park. But, there are also things that are simply out of your control, like rides closing down. And, right now, a popular ride is shut down in the parks.
Expedition Everest is CLOSED in Animal Kingdom. We were in the park today when we got this message on our My Disney Experience app.

We checked back about 20 minutes later, and the app still said the ride was temporarily closed.

This can happen from time to time for numerous reasons — weather, technical difficulties, and more. Usually, a ride will reopen at some point during the day, but it’s not guaranteed.

We’ll be sure to update you on if we see the ride open back up, but keep checking your My Disney Experience app if you’re in the park and want to know as soon as it’s back.

For now, you can check out other things in the park like Flight of Passage, DINOSAUR, or Kilimanjaro Safaris.
