Let’s be honest here, you can make all the schedules and lists and read all the articles, but sometimes things just don’t go according to plan during your Disney World vacation.
What do we mean? Well, a ride closure or a bad weather day can throw a wrench into some of the most carefully-laid plans, and unexpected illnesses or injuries sometimes happen and throw you off your groove. And today, you may find yourself having one of those days if you’re in EPCOT!
Over in the World Showcase, there’s an unexpected problem in the Mexico Pavilion. We were there this morning when the pyramid had to be evacuated, and guests were escorted back out into the street.

Disney didn’t share details about the circumstances, but Cast Members did note that the interior of the pyramid itself would reopen BEFORE Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros, so it’s possible that there’s an issue with the ride.
A short while later, we were allowed to reenter the building. We learned that the evacuation was related to the ride, but no additional details were shared about what went wrong. We’ll continue to watch for it to reopen.

Have you ever been evacuated from a ride or attraction in Disney World? Tell us in the comments!
My wife and I were evacuated from the Frozen ride during our December vacation. The ride just stopped. There was no indication that we were in any danger and the Cast Members were calm and very professional. We were near the end of the ride so it was very easy for us to get off the ride once the water was drained. I don’t know how difficult it was for those behind us to get off.
A few yrs back , while on frozen , boat stopped in front of Anna singing. After about 15 min, amazing to watch, water was drained & we were escorted off, down stairs thru back of ride, a free backstage tour. No issues, all were fine & offered fast pass for another ride.
Same day I was stuck in Haunted Mansion but ride wasn’t evacuated, Sat about 15 min also, then Spaceship Earth, about 20 min. Three unexpected stop in one day. A day to remember
