NEWS: More COVID-19 Measures REMOVED From Disney Cruise Line

To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.

The Disney Cruise Line combines all the Disney characters we know and love with the adventure of being out at sea! Of course, we love a little voyage on The Jungle Cruise, but nothing quite compares to sleeping, dining, and exploring on a Disney Cruise Line ship.

If you’re planning to set sail with the Disney Cruise Line, you might want to hear about all the latest health and safety requirements so you know what to expect during your vacation. Recently, Disney updated its COVID-19 policies; let’s take a look at all the latest changes!

For many, dining onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship is one of the most exciting parts of the vacation. Starting now, the Disney Cruise Line website states, “Quick service food and beverage locations, including buffets, still offer all-you-care-to-eat bites and treats.” This new language means that self-service buffets have returned.

Previously, all foods and beverages available at self-service stations were served by Crew Members. Now, guests can visit the buffet once again and make dining selections on their own.

In some cases, service attendants are available to help guests looking for a quick service meal, and the Disney Cruise Line website notes that these Crew Members are available “at select times.”

Back in early March 2022, Disney stated that face coverings are optional for guests in most indoor locations on Disney Cruise ships. Now, guests are no longer required to wear a face mask in the theater, though “face coverings are required on motorcoach transportation and in the Disney Cruise Line Terminal and may be required in ports of call based on local government requirements.”

The old language on the Disney Cruise Line website stated, “guests ages 2 and up, including those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, will still be required to wear face coverings in the Walt Disney Theatre.”

Additionally, Disney updated its fireworks procedure. While guests were previously assigned a specific fireworks showtime prior to their cruise, Disney is no longer assigning guests to a predetermined date.

Now, guests can watch the fireworks whenever they want! Disney also recently announced that traditional meet and greet character interactions are returning to the Disney Cruise Line.

Keep in mind that Disney’s health and safety policies are subject to change, and these changes do not apply to sailings from Disney’s Canadian and European ports.

  1. Great info, buuut… the ending threw me a curveball. If these updates do not apply to sailings from Canada, where can I learn what to expect on the Disney Wonder, sailing from Vancouver, BC on April 26?
