NEWS: A Sports Illustrated Hotel May Be Coming to Orlando

If you’re looking for somewhere interesting to stay when you come to Orlando, you’ve got some really unique options!

Disney World and Universal Orlando are both home to some over-the-top themed resorts, and with the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser coming soon, there’s no limit to the exciting experiences we could see in the future. Now, you might be able to add a Sports Illustrated hotel to that list!

According to the Orlando Business Journal, a new interactive hotel from the Sports Illustrated brand may be coming to Orlando by 2024. New York-based Authentic Brands Group LLC, owner of the Sports Illustrated brand, has announced the launch of Sports Illustrated Resorts, which they describe as “premium, lifestyle properties with myriad outdoor activities.”

The news release notes that there are plans for a resort in Orlando (among other destinations) after the first one opens in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The Punta Cana resort will be “unveiled” in 2022. If you visit the resort’s website, you’ll see a 2024 opening date for the Orlando resort, as well as photos that depict a baseball field, pools, and a kart track with a “Naskart” logo.

What all could be included at these resorts? Well, it’ll be activities such as golf, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, horseback riding, water sports, zip-lining, biking, hiking, and more. Live-action sports, entertainment, dining, and wellness/relaxation elements will be included as well.
