The holiday season is in full swing at Disney World, meaning that there are a lot of people visiting the parks and resorts!

Crowds started to arrive early into the Thanksgiving week at the end of November and they’ve continued to grow leading up to Christmas and New Year’s. We’ve seen the crowds impact everything from the monorail to Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations to Mobile Order return windows. But, today guests are waiting 2+ hours in line for a spot that isn’t even in the park!
When we were headed into Magic Kingdom around noon today, we noticed that there were A LOT of people waiting in line near the entrance. And, the line wasn’t to get into the park…it was for Guest Services!

Normally, you can expect a bit of a line here, which is why Disney has umbrellas set up in the short winding queue on particularly hot days. But, today the line extended far past the umbrellas and down the walkway to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

And, it just kept going! A Cast Member that we spoke with said that the line was approximately a 2-hour wait (!!).

That’s a pretty long time to be standing out in the sun, so another Cast Member was walking down the line handing out bottled water to anyone who wanted it.

There are a whole host of reasons why people need to visit Guest Services before heading into the park, like MagicBands that aren’t working, Florida Residents who need to show proof of residency to use their ticket, Genie+ Lightning Lane issues, questions about park passes, and more. And, during busier times there can end up being far more guests who need help than there are Cast Members to help them.
If you’re not experiencing ticketing issues but still have a question or need assistance, we suggest heading into the park and finding a Guest Experience location — these do tend to still have a line, but your wait time will usually be shorter.

Well, that’s one line that you probably didn’t expect to see in Disney World today! Of course, we’ll continue to keep you up to date on all the latest Disney happenings, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars!
