Since Disney World’s reopening, the parks have highly encouraged mobile ordering in an effort to encourage social distancing.
So what happens when you’re building up an appetite as we walk around Disney World, and mobile ordering isn’t as speedy as you need? We’ve got some tips on the best ways to avoid mobile order wait times in Disney World right now!
Mobile ordering has always been useful, but now, it is more popular than ever at Disney World. Even Table Service restaurants are starting to adopt it, with a new Table Service to-go service available at select restaurants.
This is largely to spread out the steadily increasing crowds, and provide guests with safe options when ordering food in Disney World. As it turns out, the influx of crowds has a ripple effect through all areas of the parks, including mobile ordering.
Mobile ordering is usually instantaneous and easy, but high capacity in the parks can change that! Inevitably, when a crowd of park-goers all order food at the same time, it’s going to cause a backup.
We experienced this first-hand at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, when Flame Tree Barbecue’s mobile ordering had a major backlog.
When we pulled up the mobile menu, the restaurant noted that there would be a wait until we could pick up our food.
Thankfully, there is a simple solution! Do not wait until you are feeling famished to order. While you are off riding attractions or walking around, open the MyDisneyExperience app ahead of time to see what the wait is like where you are planning to eat. If there is a long period of time until you can pick up your order, the restaurant is most likely busy!
Plan ahead! If you feel yourself starting to get hungry, check the wait times and order accordingly based on the wait. You may have to order 30 minutes before you usually would.
As crowds continue to grow at Disney World, by simply shifting into more of a plan-ahead mentality, hunger pangs can easily be avoided! We’ll keep you updated on all of the latest regarding Disney World crowds and planning tips at the parks right now.
