A few weeks ago, it was announced that Disney would lay off 28,000 Cast Members.

Disney made this decision due to limited capacity and extended closures. People all over have been looking for ways to help those who are affected, and now Cast Members are looking to give back.
According to Fox News Orlando, there is a food drive happening weekly in Kissimmee, Florida. This is for hospitality workers who were affected by layoffs during the global pandemic.

Several volunteer members are Cast Members affected by the layoffs, as well as the president of Unite Here Local 737, a union that represents many hospitality and theme park employees.

The food drive is a drive-through system where volunteers load a few boxes of food into the back of each car. Each car receives about 90 pounds of food that includes meat, dairy, and vegetables.

When asked why he wanted to volunteer, laid-off worker, Nick Caturano, said “Love your neighbor. Do unto others as you want done to yourself.”
We will continue to update you on any information about the Disney layoffs and how you can help.
