If you’ve never done it before, getting into a Disney World park from the outside can be quite the challenge.

There are so many different options, like the monorail, skyliner, ferry boats, busses, and of course, taking your own car and navigating the parking lots. The system itself is pretty complex as it is, so minor bumps can end up having a pretty significant impact on your day in the parks!

This morning was pretty foggy in the Magic Kingdom! One of the many ways to get to the park entrance is by Ferry Boat. This option can sometimes be a faster and less crowded option than the monorail.

However, boats aren’t as reliable as other modes of transportation, mostly because of one thing: weather. If the conditions aren’t right, taking a ferry boat can be pretty dangerous, so of course, they’re shut down for inclement weather. We saw that this morning at Magic Kingdom!

This morning was particularly foggy, and because of that, the Ferry Boats were not running. The Cast Members told us that it was due to lack of visibility. What that means, though, is that everyone who planned on taking the Ferry Boats had to turn to an alternative: the monorail.

The line got backed up pretty quickly, and extended far outside of the station.

We know that Disney World is a lot of waiting in lines, but having to wait in an extra line because of weather is no fun. At the end of the day, we can’t control the weather, but it might be worth checking the forecast before you leave for your Disney Parks day so you can pick the best mode of transportation!
