We’re only three months from the beginning of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary!

The 18-month long celebration is set to include NEW beacons of light on all four park icons, brand new fireworks shows at both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, specialty-themed cavalcades and character costumes, new attractions, and LOTS more! And, we’re already getting a look at some of the new decorations that will be popping up around the parks!
Last month Disney announced that they would be adding 50 golden Disney character sculptures (which they’re calling the “Disney Fab 50”) throughout all four theme parks. And, now we’ve got a look at the first character being transformed into a sculpture — Mickey Mouse!

Bret Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse, revealed the golden Mickey Mouse sculpture in an Instagram post today and it sure is sparkly!
The statue has the iconic Disney character smiling with his arms up high in the sky and no details were spared!

You’ll be able to find him in front of Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom along with Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale.
And, leading up to October, you can “collect” the Disney character sculptures virtual through Instagram! All you have to do is tap and hold the bookmark icon under the post on @disneyparksblog and you’ll be able to add it to a new collection.

Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more big reveals of the statues, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
