Disney World’s 50th anniversary is coming up, with the celebration starting on October 1st this year!
There’s SO MUCH going on in Disney World to celebrate the big occasion, with new fireworks shows in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, a new daytime show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and a new cavalcade. But those aren’t the only new additions coming to the parks!
As part of the celebration, Disney World will kick off the “Disney Fab 50” — a series of gold sculptures featuring Disney characters that will be displayed across all four theme parks!
Disney plans to display 50 sculptures in total. They haven’t released details on all the characters who will be featured as golden sculptures, but we do know that starting October 1st, guests will get to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale in the Magic Kingdom, outside Cinderella castle!
Disney World’s president, Jeff Vahle, has announced that the statues of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be dedicated to “Cast Members past, present, and future.”
There might be even more to these sculptures than meets the eye! Disney mentioned “surprising ways you’ll be able to interact with these beautiful sculptures.” Maybe we’ll be able to talk with them? Or will they move? All we can say for sure is that Disney has a lot in store for their 50th anniversary! Keep following AllEars for the latest news on Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration!
