Here’s What Will Be CLOSED in Disney World Next Week!

There are usually at least a few construction projects going on in the parks and resorts when you’re visiting Disney World. And, with the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebrations kicking off soon, we’ve been seeing a lot of refurbishments and updates coming to rides, shops, and resorts.

Walt Disney World Railroad

The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed in Magic Kingdom for over 2 years now as some of the train tracks are currently blocked by the ongoing construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run.

And, the work won’t be done just yet — the railroad is scheduled to be closed for the next week with no opening date announced by Disney just yet. But, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for updates!

The Hall of Presidents

Across the park in Liberty Square, The Hall of Presidents will also be closed again this week as the attraction undergoes routine refurbishment.

Currently, Disney is adding an animatronic that represents President Joe Biden to the show, which is something that Disney does each time that a new president is voted in.

Main Street Confectionery

And, the Main Street Confectionery will be closed this week, as it continues to receive a major refurbishment on Main Street, U.S.A.

The shop has been closed for almost four months now, but you can still find many of the sweets and treats at the Main Street Cinema. Disney hasn’t shared when the update will be complete, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled!

Disney World Resort Refurbishments

The Disney parks aren’t the only spots with construction going on –there are also some projects in the Disney World Hotels! We’ve been keeping track of the big refurbishment at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, with the entryway, lobby, monorail station, and even the rooms all receiving updates.

But, the closures won’t be around much longer — Disney has announced that the resort will reopen to all guests on July 19th (though the monorail station and the front entrance to the Great Ceremonial House will remain closed).

Construction also started at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort last week, and the hallway connecting the main lobby will remain closed this week. Though, the rest of the resort remains unaffected by the updates.
