PHOTOS: Trader Sam’s Gift Shop Now “Open” on Disney World’s Jungle Cruise

The Jungle Cruise at Disney World has been undergoing a lot of changes over the past few months!

We’ve seen a new scene pop up, a new building, and even new characters. The animatronic Trader Sam was removed from the ride not long ago and we’ve seen artwork for the new scene meant to replace him. Today we finally caught a glimpse of Trader Sam’s Gift Shop and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Trader Sam’s Gift Shop is now open on the Jungle Cruise in Disney World! This serves as the replacement for the Trader Sam animatronic as Disney World updates and refurbishes the ride.

Trader Sam, the “head salesman,” was previously located near the end of the Jungle Cruise ride, and his character was often used by Skippers for a lot of puns about losing your head. Now, Jungle Cruise guests will be able to see his gift shop, comprised of items left behind by previous travelers!

Be careful not to leave anything behind on your next Jungle Cruise ride or it might end up at Trader Sam’s Gift Shop! The original artwork appeared to also have some mischievous animals getting into some trouble at the gift shop, so we don’t yet know if animals will be added later.
