Today, Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America officially reopened.
In August 2020, refurbishment in the area began. All the water in Rivers of America was drained, shutting down both Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Belle Riverboat. But now, the area is back open again!
We spotted the Liberty Belle doing some testing yesterday with Cast Members on board. Now the boat is carrying some different freight: guests!
The Liberty Belle took quite a journey outside of Magic Kindgom and back, but she has returned to her scenic tour duties.

If you’d like to hop on and chill out away from the crowds, the Liberty Square Riverboat departs every hour on the hour between 9:30AM to 7PM daily.
With the riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island back open, we’re excited to enjoy views of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the rest of Frontierland once again. Although other areas of Magic Kingdom will be closing soon for refurbishment, it looks like this area is clear of construction for now! As always, stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney news!
