“It’s the heart of America / the heartbeat of a holiday!” It’s Magic Kingdom, and today we’re exploring Main Street, U.S.A.!

This conduit to the magic is a destination of its own, so we’re taking a stroll right down the middle (and from side to side and end to end) in our last Walking Tour of Magic Kingdom! Check out our other recent walking tours below, where we’ve brought you images of attractions, eateries, shops, and more to keep some magic alive while we’re not in the World.

We’re starting our tour at the Main Street Station for the Walt Disney World Railroad. As you know, TRON construction in Tomorrowland has halted circle tours of Magic Kingdom, but nothing can detract from the iconic station.

Raise your hand in the comments if you’ve got to have a picture right here!
As we pass into the park, we get an even more close-up look at the station, but is it just us, or are these butterflies fluttering by in our stomachs? We always get excited for a day in Magic Kingdom, no matter how many times we’ve been.

The first look at Main Street, U.S.A., is really something special. You can see the American flag hoisted up the flagpole. Even with the park being closed, the colors fly. Click here to read about it.

We’re sharing this endearing statue of Roy Disney and Minnie here, but you may spot the duo over by City Hall during the holidays. Pause for an “awwwwwww!”

To the right as you begin your stroll up Main Street is the Town Square Theater, where you can meet Mickey Mouse and Tinker Bell in two separate meet and greets.

Say hi to the big cheese!

Just next door is Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.

Patio seating at Tony’s is a fun way to dine when the weather is nice. And if Festival of Fantasy goes by, you’ll have some entertainment, too (albeit, at a distance with a crowd between you and the action).

Time to move on! As you pass the Town Square, to your right before you get to the main entrance of the Confectionery is a small side street.

Here you’ll find The Chapeau.

But we can already smell the caramel apples, so it’s Main Street Confectionery time!

Confectionery has a few different entrances. This bright blue facade is pretty. And here’s your friendly reminder to look up when you’re exploring Main Street! There are lots of homages to Disney icons and Imagineers!

But it’s time for a sugar rush. We’ll take one of each item in the confection case! Fudge. Caramel apple. Pecan turtles. We want ’em all!

Let’s nosh and walk, shall we? It’s time to drink in the real star of this show: the Castle at the end of the street!

But also this: Main Street Cinema!

Inside is an Art of Disney store and gallery.

If baubles are more your thing, Uptown Jewelers is next door!

There’s just so much detail in the moldings and storefronts.

Next, still on our right, is Center Street. This little-explored spot offers plenty of atmospheric details and a little bit of seating.

It tends to be pretty quiet down here, so if you need a spot to relax for a bit, it might work for you.

Next up is Crystal Arts. As you can see, they do get into the holiday spirit. 😉

Main Street Bakery is calling us now. This Starbucks location proffers typical Starbucks goodies in addition to plenty of beverages.

We’ll wait while you step inside to order your favorite cuppa!

But for those who prefer to start their day with sweet, frozen joy, we’re now at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor.

They’ve always got something new and delicious on the menu — in addition to the standard favorites.

Right around the corner from the Parlor is Plaza Restaurant.

You’ll want to make an Advance Dining Reservation if you want to eat here. But the effort? It could be worth it! We’re big fans of their milkshakes, too.

Now we’ve arrived at the hub, and it’s so wide open here now.

Of course, we’ve got to check out Cinderella Castle, too. Take the path up the right side if you can…

…and if you’re early enough in the day, you may get some great views of a mostly-empty hub!

As you descend back to Main Street proper, take some time to check out the details around you. These (relatively) new Castle extensions are rich with texture and visual interest.

And don’t forget to take a moment for the man and the mouse.

All right — back on track. We’re waving hello to Pooh and his friends at Crystal Palace. This character meal also requires an ADR, so be sure to make one for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Just past Crystal Palace you’ll find the Park’s Baby Care Center and First Aid. This can be helpful info if you’re in need of supplies or some quiet time.

As we make our way back to Main Street’s main drag, we pass this outdoor seating at Casey’s Corner…

…before arriving at the Quick Service restaurant’s front. Here’s your chance for a hot dog. Or corn dog nuggets. Or both.

The whole right side of Main Street, U.S.A., is devoted to the Emporium, with various sections having their own names but being fully connected inside. You can go for the gold (Minnie ears) in the Hall of Champions…

…or get gussied up with Fashion & Apparel.
Disney Clothiers is a reliable locale for adding Disney-fied pieces to your wardrobe…

…while you’ll find collectibles and souvenirs throughout the massive store.

As we near the Town Square again, we see the many storefronts of the Emporium change in style and color.

With this section cloaked in red brick.

Tucked behind the Emporium is the Barber Shop, where guests of all ages can get their hair cut — with Baby’s First Haircut being a big deal. (Note that you may also be able to get pixie dusted if you pop in here!)

The fire station is the place to go for Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom.

And there’s a conveniently located restroom right next door. This is a good (though sometimes busy) place to do your business before making your way out of the park.

City Hall commands attention here at the end of Main Street…

…though last time we checked, it looked like this.

The Chamber of Commerce is another delightfully-designed structure.

Know that this is the place to go for Package Pick Up and Lost and Found.

Here at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., you’ll find popcorn, beverage, and snack carts. Fuel up for your ride back to the Resort or while you’re waiting for Festival of Fantasy to roll by!

And what’s Main Street without massive bunches of colorful balloons? We love an iconic image, and balloons on Main Street is one!

And we’re back at the train station, which sits above the Kingdom, regal and exciting and Walt-approved.

Thanks for strolling Main Street, U.S.A., with us! What’s your favorite stop along the street? Let us know in the comments!

I don’t know why, but I love getting my haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop. It’s a relaxing oasis. I even went there one time at rope drop! The kids headed over to Space Mountain first thing and my wife headed over to the bakery. I avoided the sea of humanity and got a great haircut for a reasonable price – learned a couple of interesting things from the cast members as well.
My favorite stop on Main Street is one of my favorite stops I all of Disney World. That moment the first time we enter the Kingdom, stop on Main Street and have the happy “we’re here” sigh. Even on the rare occasions the first day is another park, it doesn’t feel real until that happens.
