Our Favorite PhotoPass Opportunities at Walt Disney World

As the saying goes, “taking pictures is making memories”, and the Disney World PhotoPass photographers are some of the best in the game when it comes to getting that perfect glamour shot for your vacation.

You’ll be able to find these camera-wielding cast members throughout the parks, and they can take some really special shots for your group to look back on years later with fond memories. Here are some of our favorite PhotoPass opportunities to snap in the parks right now.

Cinderella Castle from Liberty Square Bridge — Magic Kingdom

We love to get the classic castle picture when we visit the Most Magical Place on Earth, but sometimes it can get a little crowded on Main Street for the view down to the castle (by sometimes, we mean all the time).

We prefer to take the shot from the bridge near Sleepy Hollow as you make your way into Liberty Square simply because it’s not as congested as the bustling Main Street. It definitely has nothing to do with walking five feet to order a Mickey Waffle right after the shot… nothing at all.

Nighttime Magic Shots — All Parks

Disney recently added special nighttime Magic Shots to all the parks to give your snaps that little extra bit of, well, magic once the sun goes down. Each of the park icons comes with its own special effect.

Some of our favorites shots include the reverberating rings of energy around Spaceship Earth at Epcot and the animal spirits that surround the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. If you want to get a pic with these special nighttime effects, note that Disney set an expiration date of April 19th for them, so they may not be available on your next visit.

Pandora — The World of Avatar — Animal Kingdom

Day or night, the floating mountains and cascading waterfalls of Pandora make for an excellent backdrop for your photos. The bio-luminescent plant life cranks the ambience up to eleven and makes this a really beautiful location for pictures.

If you’re lucky, you may even spot a banshee flying high in the sky above you while your picture’s taken!

Tower of Terrror — Hollywood Studios

On your way to check into the Hollywood Tower Hotel, why not snap a pic to remember the occasion? The tower looming overhead is one of our favorite backdrops and it gets even spookier (i.e. better pictures) at night!

We’ve also seen in the past that the PhotoPass photographers will sometimes have prop suitcases out so you can act like the star that you are on the way to the definitely not cursed Hollywood Tower Hotel.

Expedition Everest Bridge — Animal Kingdom

We can’t help taking pictures in Animal Kingdom, it’s just such a photogenic park! The bridge by Expedition Everest is another of our fave spots for a pic because it just has a spectacular view.

The river and greenery creates a beautiful and lush foreground, while you get the whole mountain in the background. Don’t be afraid to roar just like the yeti!
