Opening Season Revealed for Epcot’s Upcoming Nighttime Spectacular HarmonioUS

When Illuminations snuffed its torches on September 30, its replacement show, Epcot Forever, was just a temporary substitute. Now thanks to a D23 treatise on “Must-See Disney Experiences Coming in 2020”, we’re learning about the opening season for HarmonioUS, the permanent nighttime show that will blast off over World Showcase Lagoon next year.

HarmonioUS

HarmonioUS is (in addition to being difficult to type over and over) set to embrace Epcot’s new vision of human connectedness and will merge “floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, [and] lasers” — and according to D23, it’ll all begin in Spring 2020.

D23 and Disney haven’t shared anything more specific, but a spring start date will come as welcome news for those planning to visit Epcot (and the rest of the World) in early-2020.

  1. It doesn’t say anything in the D23 story about Spring 2020 it only says 2020. I think D23 got a little trigger happy posted it and then retracted the Spring 2020.

  2. I wonder when the Epcot Forever show will be changed to HarmonioUS?

Right now, I’m setting up reservations for the last week in April (for my father’s 90th birthday), and I noticed that there was an Epcot Forever package at the Rose and Crown, where you eat a meal on the terrace and have seats for the fireworks show.

Given it says ‘spring 2020’, I have to imagine that the show will actually be HarmonioUS by the time we get there. But it still would be good to know when the planned switch over is. Right now, the Disney calendar lists EPCOT forever through the beginning of June.
