Orlando, Florida, is known for many things! Disney World, Universal, and those extremely hot summer days. Even during the winter, you can find yourself pouring sweat throughout the day. What’s more surprising than a hot day in Disney World is a cold one!

Summer Crowds in Magic Kingdom

Yes, cold days in Disney World do actually exist, despite our beliefs, and this week is going to see quite a few of them. Starting on Tuesday, December 30th, temperatures are dropping as low as 35 degrees at night.

The weather will sit in the 40s for the next two days before moving back into the 50s at night throughout the end of the week. The highs are peaking at 76 degrees, so it won’t be cold all day long, but those nights will catch you off guard if you aren’t prepared!

We have found ourselves spending extra cash on sweatshirts on our trips because the cold hit us harder than expected! Sometimes we wanted the excuse of a new sweatshirt, and other times, the cold front genuinely forced our hand. Throughout this week, the wind chill will make the evenings feel even colder than they actually are, so jackets will be needed. This might even be a time for gloves and toboggans, depending on how well you adjust to low temperatures.

Luckily, it’s supposed to be mostly sunny during the day. We would recommend wearing layers so you can adjust throughout the day. Orlando saw low temperatures earlier this year in November, so this isn’t too out of the norm for this time of year. If you’re already on the way or you’ve already arrived, no worries! Disney has sweatshirts and jackets in almost every store, but if you want to find some more budget-friendly options, Target and Walmart aren’t too far from the resort, and they can easily provide.

There are plenty of jackets in Disney World

You can also find hot chocolate more readily available throughout the parks. Several quick services will add signage if they have the warm drink, but you can also check out menus on the My Disney Experience app. This is another great way to keep warm!

This cold front will only last for a few days, but the lows will stay in the 50s through early January. Pack your sweatshirts just in case! If you’re looking for a good one, we have a few suggestions, starting with this Oversized Sequins Sweatshirt!
