It’s almost time, and we can’t bear to wait much longer!

After many years, we’re FINALLY getting a nighttime parade in Magic Kingdom again. Disney Starlight premieres starting July 20th, and we’re getting prepped by looking at the concept art, checking out behind-the-scenes sneak peeks, and of course, picking our spot to watch it! So, where should you stand to check out this new entertainment offering? Let’s break it down.
Disney Starlight follows the opposite parade route as all others have — it begins on Main Street, U.S.A., travels up to the hub, through Liberty Square, and ends in Frontierland, exiting by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. So you’ll be able to watch it in the same spots as other parades, just going the opposite direction!

However, as this is a nighttime parade, lighting around the park can definitely affect your viewing experience. We attended a virtual panel with the creators of the parade, and they dropped some big tips for where to watch it!

One of the creators of the show, Katie Marks, said that there are two really great spots to watch this parade. The first is in the hub looking down Main Street, U.S.A. back towards the train station. This will give a great view with Main Street buildings framing everything.

The other best spot? Well, that’s right in front of the castle, of course! For the ultimate view, stand facing the castle so that you can enjoy a stellar backdrop to all the magic rolling down the street.

We’ll be sharing more “best spots” to watch the parade once it premieres and we get to check it out ourselves. Keep in mind that the showtimes are 9PM and 11PM each evening, so if you miss it the first time, you can stay late to watch it for the second showing.

Now it’s important to remember that this parade is expected to be EXTREMELY popular, so you’ll want to grab these coveted spots at least one hour in advance during the first few months of the parade.
