Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a great park for Pixar lovers, those who enjoy thrill rides, and families who want attractions that are good for the whole family.

Toy Story Land is a great fit for the whole family, as is Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy (which will be replaced in the coming months with a Villains show), and thrill rides like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Rise of the Resistance, and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run is great for older kids, teens, and adults. If you’re planning a 2025 Disney World trip and want to avoid the Hollywood Studios crowds, these are the dates you’re going to want to stay away from!
Major Holidays
Now, if you’re someone who is set on celebrating one of these major holidays in Disney World, that’s fantastic! We do just want to warn you that crowds are very likely going to be HIGH in all parks, especially Hollywood Studios, and you’ll likely see wait times skyrocket.

This is also the case for the days surrounding major holidays, as many families are off of school and work and take longer vacations around this time. The major holidays you’ll want to watch out for those major crowds are:
- New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day
- 4th of July Week (essentially June 29th through July 5th)
- Halloween (October 31st)
- Thanksgiving Week (essentially November 23rd through November 29th)
- Christmas Week (essentially December 21st through December 27th)
Three Day Weekends
Smaller holidays throughout the year also attract lots of crowds, as many families decide to take a quick vacation down to Disney World. And hey, we get it! Again, if that’s what you want to do, we hope you have the best trip — just be ready for potentially heavier crowds!

The dates to watch out for here are:
- Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend (January 18th-20th)
- Memorial Day Weekend (May 24th-26th)
- Labor Day Weekend (August 30th-September 1st)
- Indigenous Peoples Day Weekend (October 11th-13th)
runDisney Events
runDisney events also attract loads of people from all over the nation, since if you’re going to run a marathon, why not do it in Disney World? Disney has multiple events throughout the year, and you’ll definitely want to expect higher crowd levels, since once runners are done with their race, they often head into the parks with their families!

The runDisney races announced so far in 2025 you’ll want to watch out for are:
- Walt Disney World Marathon (January 8th-12th)
- Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend (February 20th-24th)
- runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend (April 3rd-6th)
Championships
Many sports organizations also have events that take place throughout the year. While these aren’t held inside one of the parks, they are held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex on Disney World property, and many of the teams will make their way to the parks on the days they’re not competing, or once their competition is over.

In 2025, you’ll want to watch out for:
- National Dance Team Championships (January 31st-February 2nd)
- Cheerleading Worlds (April 25th-28th)
- World Dance Competition (July 9th-14th)
Special Park Events
Hollywood Studios, like other Disney World parks, will have after hours events in 2025, as well as special daytime events and offerings that fans won’t want to miss. While we don’t know yet what will be offered, we do know that May the 4th is almost always a wild day in Hollywood Studios, since all the Star Wars fans want to celebrate in Galaxy’s Edge!

Additionally, after hours events in the park sometimes mean that the park will close way earlier than normal. Sometimes, this means crowds stay lower throughout the day, which is great if you want lower wait times, but not great if you were hoping for a true full day in the park.
