A Beloved Magic Kingdom Ride Will Temporarily CLOSE Next Month

Magic Kingdom has a lot happening! With Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening on June 28th, 2024, and Country Bear Musical Jamboree scheduled to open on July 17th, 2024, it was only a matter of time before a different ride closed down for refurbishment.

Well, it looks like a beloved attraction is going to be added to the refurbishment list. Peter Pan’s Flight will be temporarily closing in Magic Kingdom next month!

Based on Disney World’s calendar, the last day you will be able to ride Peter Pan’s Flight in Magic Kingdom will be July 7th, 2024. The ride will be temporarily closing and is currently scheduled to reopen on August 21st, 2024. So don’t panic too much, the beloved ride isn’t going anywhere right now, just getting some work done.

We recently saw a permit being filed for work to be done at Peter Pan’s Flight back at the beginning of May, so we expected that the ride may be closing soon. However, Disney World has not made any remarks about what exactly will be happening to the ride.

The permit that was filed at the beginning of May was filed by Disney Imagineering which is usually reserved for elements that are “guest-facing,” which are elements that visitors would see. The contractor for the project is InterAmerica Stage, Inc. which specializes in stage rigging and machinery.

Rides are often temporarily closed for refurbishments to made. Other rides such as Test Track and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (scheduled to reopen on July 27th) are also temporarily closed as they undergo changes. We will be keeping an eye on Peter Pan’s Flight and keep you updated with any news.
