It’s HERE! We’re Bringing You to the FIRST Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World

The holiday season has officially arrived in Disney World and we couldn’t be more excited!

Once Upon a Christmastime parade

But, we’re especially excited because this year marks the return of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom. For 24 select nights throughout November and December, the park will be full of fun festivities — and it all kicks off TONIGHT! We couldn’t miss this epic event, so come with us to the return of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

We are thrilled that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is BACK in Disney World! This is one of our favorite events of the year as it’s got plenty of delicious eats and drinks, exciting entertainment, exclusive merchandise, and more.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2019

This year’s party takes place on select nights from November 8th through December 22nd, 2022 — so let’s head into the park and see what the return of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is all about!

Getting Started

Guests with tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are able to enter the park starting at 4PM without needing a Park Pass Reservation.

We were in Magic Kingdom earlier in the day, so were there a bit early, and able to get our map!

Park Map

The map will be your handy guide to everything going on in the party from the food to the entertainment.

Map

The other side has a classic map of Magic Kingdom, but with the additions of special areas for the party, like the holiday ornament location on Main Street, U.S.A.

Click here to see more of the new map!

Outside the entrance, you’ll see signs that the park will close to other guests at 6PM.

Magic Kingdom closing at 6PM

By 4PM, crowds were picking up to get in — and lots of people came prepared with ponchos, because the weather has been picking up as the area prepares for Tropical Storm Nicole.

A LOT of people were trying to get into the park for the party!

Whoa

The weather is not ideal, but that doesn’t seem to have deterred anyone.

The rain isn’t keeping anyone away

You will see Cast Members at the front entrance that will help direct you.

Look for the signs!

We got into the park and got our wristband from a Cast Member…

Wristband

…Who are in their holiday looks!

Ready for the party!

Once inside, we noticed that there were significant crowds in The Emporium.

Yikes!

There were also signs directing you on where to go inside the park to grab a wristband and map for the party.

This way to holiday cheer!

Cast Members were also helping to show people the right direction to go in to get their wristbands.

Over in Tomorrowland, there is a check-in location for the party.

It was pretty long!

We also noticed some blow up markers inside the park!

The other ones have nutcrackers on them.

Cute!

We also noticed some nutcrackers!

Fun!

The shadows made them look a little spooky.

We’re scared

Now, let’s take a look at the crowds!

Is the Price Tag Worth the Short Wait Times at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World?

Crowds

We already showed you what the crowds looked like to get into the park before the party, and there were a lot of people inside the park as well.

People on Main Street

But, once the party started, things got more quiet.

Fantasyland crowds

There weren’t even that many people out on Main Street!

Main Street once the party began

Later on in the night when the rain picked up a bit more, we noticed some people leaving the party altogether. Main Street did get a bit more crowded when the parade was set to start!

Crowds

After a rain delay, the first Once Upon a Christmastime Parade kicked off around 9PM. There were tons of partygoers waiting to see the most festive parade at Disney World!

We’re keeping up with the crowds all night, so you can follow along!

Food

Okay, let’s get into the good stuff — the food! There are plenty of exclusive snacks and drinks available at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. You can find them all listed within the party map.

Special treats

We can’t get any of these treats until party time, but we’ll share them with you once they’re available! There are, however, some treats that are available during the normal park hours and the party, like the Christmas Cookie Churro.

YUM

This is a churro served with marshmallow cream, cookie crumbles, and Christmas sprinkles. You can find it at the carts around Main Street, U.S.A.

Would you try this?

We also tried out the Christmas Wreath Donut, which is found in the same locations as the churro during both normal park hours and the party.

Donut

This is a red velvet doughnut with green buttercream and Holiday sprinkle decorations.

We also got the new Christmas Tree Cake from Casey’s Corner! This is a red velvet brownie cheesecake with eggnog buttercream and spiced caramel topped with mini sugar Christmas lights.

Next up, we grabbed the Curry Brat Tots, which are only available during the party over at The Friar’s Nook.

TOTS!

These are new and are tots topped with chopped bratwurst, curry ketchup, and apple slaw.

Also at The Friar’s Nook is the new Tinker Bell Cream Puff! This one is also only available during the party. It’s a cream puff and compressed carrot cake topped with spiced cream cheese icing, spiced walnuts, and chocolate wings.

Pretty!

And, check out this beautiful treat! It’s the new Mickey Mousse Ornament Treat from Main Street Bakery.

Almost too cute to eat…almost

This is a gingerbread mousse with crispy center and a spiced almond cake with brownie crumble. You can only get it during the party!

Another party exclusive is the Once Upon a Christmastime Tart at Sunshine Tree Terrace! This a chocolate and cranberry treat with chocolate Mickey ears — what’s not to love?

For the Sugar Plum Shake, you’ll want to head to Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies! The treat is a spiced sugar plum shake with cherry syrup, whipped cream and sprinkles. Yum!

For another delicious and slightly spooky treat, you can head to Sleepy Hollow for the Sandy Claws Peppermint Mousse! Not only is this treat adorable, but it’s made with white chocolate peppermint mousse and a chocolate fudge center. The decorations are chocolate!

Sleepy Hollow also has the Funnel Cake Sundae with peppermint ice cream, M&M’S chocolate candies, and hot fudge served on funnel cake.

Plus, we tried the Apple Cider Float made with apple cider and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Several entertainment offerings including the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show were delayed due to the rain tonight. We’re hoping the show will be able to go on — Cast Members said the first parade was delayed until 9PM.

Weather delay

Eventually, the parade was able to go! We saw so many fan-favorite characters during the parade including Wreck-It Ralph!

Chip and Dale were busy cooking up some holiday sweets!

We were focused on the parade, but how can you not take a moment to admire Cinderella Castle like this?!

The Disney Princesses made an appearance as well.

Instead of the second parade tonight, the weather caused a change in plans. Here’s a look at the Rainy Day Christmas Cavalcade featuring some popular characters!

If you come to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, don’t miss out on the Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show.

Another item that came early is the highly-anticipated Musical Popcorn Tin! Disney recently announced that this would be coming to the parks this month, but it arrived a bit early.

Check it out in action!

The Toy Story Holiday Bucket is also available early in Magic Kingdom!

We found this one only at the popcorn cart by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. It costs $28 and comes full of popcorn!
