A few weeks ago, we got some BIG news — Disney World is doing away with the FastPass+ system and introducing the new Genie+!

This new system will cost $15 a day, per ticket, and allow guests to select one attraction at a time to visit using the “Lightning Lane,” which is the new name for the FastPass line. The new feature premieres this fall and today, we started to see signs of this big change in the parks!
In Magic Kingdom this morning, the Lightning Lane signs had officially started to replace the old FastPass+ queue signs!

We noticed this change first at Tomorrowland Speedway. Looks like Disney is getting ready for the big launch!

We don’t yet have a set date on when the Lightning Lanes will start to be used in the parks, but we do know that not all attractions will be included in the purchase of Genie+. Some more popular rides will instead be included in the “Individual Attraction Selections” that will be pay-per-ride if you wish to use the Lightning Lane.

There’s also a new Lightning Lane sign over at “it’s a small world.” This one is just a banner, so it probably wasn’t as complicated to replace.

And in Adventureland, the Jungle Cruise sign had been updated as well. Perfect timing, since the ride’s signage was already being changed anyway!

We’ll make sure to look out for this change around the parks, so stay tuned to AllEars for more updates!
