NEWS: Here’s When Tusker House Character Dining Will Reopen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Modified character dining experiences are available in a few locations around Disney World at the moment, including Garden Grill Restaurant in EPCOT and Chef Mickey’s in Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Earlier this year, Disney announced that character dining would be returning to another location — Disney’s Animal Kingdom — this summer. Now we’ve got more details about exactly WHEN you’ll be able to dine with Donald and friends again in Animal Kingdom!

Today, Disney shared that Tusker House Restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be reopening with a character dining experience on June 20th!! That’s just a few weeks away!

Tusker House used to feature buffet-style meal service, but when it reopens it will instead be converted to a family-style menu still featuring those African-inspired flavors.

As we mentioned, this will be a character dining experience. Donald Duck and his Disney friends will make an appearance during the meal. We anticipate that it will be similar to other character dining experiences in Disney World. Generally, in the dining experiences we’ve been to over the past few months, the characters have waved to guests and paused for photos from a distance (a.k.a. no hugging and no autographs).

We’ll definitely let you know more details about this character dining experience once we get the chance to visit Tusker House when it reopens.

Reservations for Tusker House will become available on Friday, June 4th.
