Disney Files NEW Permit for Work at Hollywood Studios

Disney World has pretty much decided that 2026 is going to be a big year for construction projects. Construction is happening in the parks, at hotels, and around the entire resort.

There’s also a lot of construction going on in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including Animation Courtyard, which is getting reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios, while work continues on the new Monsters, Inc. land. However, even more construction is coming to Hollywood Studios soon, but this will affect the toll plaza (aka the entrance you see when driving into the park).

Disney recently filed a new permit for the address 750 N Studio Drive, which is the address associated with the Hollywood Studios Toll Plaza. The permit is for general construction (which can mean just about anything), suggesting that Disney has plans to update the area soon.

The contractor is PCL Construction Services, Inc., a company that offers general construction services, as well as fabrication and themed construction (which would coincide with what Disney needs). The company has worked on The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando, as well as LEGOLAND Florida and the Aquatica attraction at SeaWorld Orlando.

The permit suggests that whatever changes are being made, they will be something you’ll see when you drive through the entrance. This also means that you might have to deal with construction when driving to Hollywood Studios, and even parts of the toll plaza could be closed at any given time while work is being done. This could slow down traffic, so once construction begins, be sure to give yourself plenty of extra time to get to the park if you want to be there at a certain time or have a reservation for dining or an experience.
