NEWS: Trader Sam's Adds Walk-Up Waitlist Option in Disney World

There’s been a HUGE change to a popular dining spot at Disney World!

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort now has a walk-up list that has been added to the My Disney Experience app.

The Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will now use a digital Walk-Up Waitlist through the My Disney Experience app, rather than the need to line up in person to enter.

If you want to join the waitlist, there are a couple of things you need to know. You must physically be at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to join, and the waitlist can only be accessed through the My Disney Experience app.

Availability is limited, and because it’s a popular spot, this place can fill up FAST. A typical reservation system is still not available at this spot, so you need to make sure you plan out when you’ll be at the resort to join the waitlist.

Once your party is added to the waitlist, you’ll receive notifications in the app when your return time is ready — similar to quick service. Keep in mind when joining the list that entry policies, including the 21+ requirement after 8 PM, are still the same.

This isn’t the only recent change. Trader Sam’s also expanded their operating hours. Instead of opening at 3 PM, it now opens at 11 AM and closes at 12 PM. With the expanded opening and closing hours, these changes give guests more flexibility while managing the demand at one of Disney World’s most popular lounges.
