REVIEW: I Ate Pumpkin Pie on a Stick at Disney World, and I Would Do It Again

With all the big projects happening at Animal Kingdom, it’s easy to miss the NEW snacks that have dropped at two popular quick service locations at the park!

Animal Kingdom

We recently went to both Flame Tree Barbecue and Creature Comforts to try out the new eats, and now we’re bringing you our full review for each of those items.

We started off going to Flame Tree Barbeque to get two new items. The first was the Broccoli Salad, which is available for $4.99. This salad has broccoli, cheese, bacon, and golden raisins, with a coleslaw-like dressing on it. The broccoli is slightly cooked, where it still has a bite, but you also aren’t eating raw broccoli. The bacon is in little pieces mixed throughout the salad, and it adds a bite of smokiness, meatiness, and crunch to the salad. We really liked the sweetness from the golden raisins.

Broccoli Salad!

The coleslaw dressing was pretty sweet, and all the toppings almost take away the healthiness a bit for this snack, but we still enjoyed it! Probably not something to rush over for, but if you are looking to get some veggies in, it would be a great option!

It was tasty!

Next up, we grabbed the Pumpkin Cheescake Pop for $6.29. This tastes exactly like you would expect! It is like a slice of pumpkin cheesecake coated in milk chocolate and topped with some graham cracker crumbs (there were more to begin with, but when we picked it up, a bunch fell off ).

Pumpkin Cheesecake Pop!

The cheesecake has a lot of pumpkin flavor and lots of warming spice flavor — like cinnamon and nutmeg. It is similar to a pumpkin pie filling, but more light and fluffy like a cheesecake. Definitely going to be a winner if you are a fan of pumpkin desserts!

This was a delicious treat!

After we tried the new items at Flame Tree, we made our way to Creature Comforts — no, we did not grab a Starbucks drink there. Instead, we got the brand-new Boo Log for $5.79. It was Caramel Mousse, Chocolate Nougat, Caramel-Chocolate Feuilletine, and Chocolate Ganache with Halloween Bark.

Boo Log!

We honestly didn’t realize this whole treat was mousse, and it was very melted by the time we tasted it. So we would definitely recommend eating this treat sooner rather than later. It is a mousse dessert, so if you don’t like mousse, we’d probably skip this. The mousse is coated in a chocolate ganache, and it has a small filling inside.

Oooo

The mousse is fluffy and light, and it has a salted caramel flavor that also has a hint of coffee flavor to it. This isn’t a crazy rich chocolate dessert, but chocolate is definitely the main flavor. However, the lightness of the mousse makes this dessert not feel as rich. The filling was a slice of chocolate that had a bit of a crisp to it. And there was also some sort of cream in the middle. If you like chocolate and mousse, you would enjoy this!

Check this treat out!
