This is a theme park expansion that Disney Adults have been asking for for YEARS now, and it’s finally coming true. However, it’ll be pretty hard for Disney to please everyone, and some fans are already concerned about what this land is actually going to offer. We’ve rounded up the most common concerns from Disney Adults themselves!

We asked our readers on Facebook about Villains Land to see if they’re still just as hyped as they were when it was announced…and opinions were mixed.

Let’s check out the most popular concerns.

It’s Going to Take “So Long”

The first concern that was addressed in the comments was the amount of time it’ll take Disney to build this new land. Fans are worried that construction is going to last a WHILE, affecting visits to Magic Kingdom for the foreseeable future.

However, some people pointed to the long construction time as a good sign, saying, “Disney may take their time when it comes to new attractions but you can guarantee it’ll be a quality end product.” Here’s to hoping that’s the case!

It Won’t Compare to Epic Universe

Another fan expressed concern that Disney won’t be able to live up to the incredible feats of Universal Orlando’s newest park, Epic Universe. That theme park opened in May 2025 with its own villain-like land, Dark Universe.

Dark Universe

Dark Universe is themed to the classic Universal Monsters franchises, and it has two rides — a roller coaster called Curse of the Werewolf, and a dark ride called Monsters Unchained that has been praised for its technological advancements and excellent animatronics. Fans of spooky things have loved the land so far, touting the character interactions, backstory, and vibes to be perfect for those who enjoy things a little bit creepy.

So will Magic Kingdom’s spooky land live up to the hype? Only time will tell. Disney tends to lean a bit more family-friendly than Universal, so we’re interested to see how the two offerings compare.

Disney Hasn’t Released Enough Information Yet

The final popular concern among our readers is that Disney hasn’t released enough information yet. Some fans are worried since there haven’t been announcements about the land’s attractions, dining, or offerings.

So far, we’ve mostly just seen some concept art and teasers about the architecture and villains that will be represented. With construction already underway, we’re eager to get more details!
