Universal Finally Confirmed Why There's an Empty Building in the Middle of Epic Universe

A new theme park just debuted, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to sit back and relax. Universal’s new Epic Universe park is already planning new additions. Yes, really!

You won’t hear us complaining — we’ve loved this park ever since we got to explore it during previews, so we’re looking forward to any and all additions throughout the coming years. If you’ve walked into the park and wondered what this big empty building is in Celestial Park, now we have an answer — a new restaurant is coming!

If you’re walking into the park from the main entrance and heading towards Isle of Berk (so you’re walking on the pathway on the far right), you’ll pass an empty building in Celestial Park.

It’s located just before the entrance portal to Isle of Berk, and it’s a pretty massive spot. We were curious about this empty building when we saw no changes on opening day (May 22nd), but now our questions have been answered. There’s a new sign on the door that informs visitors that a new restaurant will be coming in 2026!

Right now, we don’t have any clues as to what this restaurant will be — its theme, story, culinary options, and everything in between are a mystery for now. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for all the latest info, though!

The Blue Dragon

Considering that the park is located in Celestial Park, we have a feeling there will be some sort of astronomical theming and design elements. The other restaurants located in Celestial Park, like Atlantic, The Blue Dragon Pan Asian Restaurant, The Oak and Star Tavern, Pizza Moon, and Comet Dogs, all have some space-like elements in the story and decor.
