If you’re anything like us, you probably love a good Disney story. We love to root for the heroes, and some of us might secretly align with the villains. We love a good plot twist (still not over the epic Prince Hans betrayal), and there’s nothing better than an ensemble cast of characters Encanto-style.

But why are we talking about Disney heroes? Well, there’s actually an entire new Disney Cruise ship dedicated to our favorite Disney stories. One of the NEW offerings on the ship caught our attention, so let’s talk about it!
OK, so the new Disney Cruise ship is called the Disney Destiny, and the ship’s maiden voyage will depart from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 20th, 2025.

What makes this ship unique is the special theme! The Destiny will have a first-of-its-kind design theme, focusing on Disney heroes and villains. Onboard the ship, you’ll encounter heroes and villains from stories including The Lion King, Hercules, and 101 Dalmatians.
Minnie Mouse will be the star of the show, “embodying the spirit of the Disney Destiny,” and will be featured in the filigree artwork for the bow of the ship.

Oh, and there will be plenty of Marvel representation, too! Take a look at the concept art for the Disney Destiny stern — it’s Spider-Man!

Now, let’s get to why we’re here. Like all other Disney ships before it, the Destiny will have rotational dining, lounges, as well as some additional signature dining restaurants. The theme is Heroes and Villains and will draw “on the legacies of beloved Disney stories, characters, and theme park attractions.” Did you catch that? Look out for nods to theme park attractions!

In addition to the Haunted Mansion Parlor (first seen on the Disney Treasure cruise ship), the Disney Destiny will have a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge! It’s called Cask and Cannon, and Disney teased a relaxed atmosphere with an extensive selection of spirits and brews — “some served straight from the barrel in true pirate style.”

That’s right — not one, but TWO new Pirates of the Caribbean lounges are coming soon! Think of all the RUM; Captain Jack Sparrow would surely approve!

As a reminder, the Magic Kingdom is getting a pirates lounge of its own! The new Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern will open in Adventureland in late 2025. Disney confirmed that this tavern will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean and will be a place for pirates of all ages. Are you keeping track? That’s double the chances to dine like a pirate!

With all these pirate-themed options on the way, we have a LOT to look forward to as Pirates of the Caribbean fans. But what do YOU think? Are you looking forward to the addition of Cask and Cannon on the Disney Destiny, or is there another Disney attraction you’d like to see in lounge form?
