There’s a lot going on in Disney World this year, but one of the biggest additions is that we’re getting not one but TWO new lounges in Magic Kingdom.

One of them will be a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Lounge located in Frontierland (called McKim’s Mile House), and the other is the new Pirates Lounge coming to Adventureland. We’ve been keeping a close eye on both sets of construction, and there’s a new update on permits you should know about.
Disney just filed a new permit for the area titled 4873 Caribbean Way, which is the approximate address of the new Pirate Tavern. The new permit is to “refurbish signage,” which, note, is different than a permit to “install signage.”

This is likely since there is still signage left over from Disney’s long-closed The Pirates League attraction (located in roughly the same location as the permit address). This attraction was similar to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in that it would transform kids and adults into pirates. The experience closed on July 27th, 2020, and the area has remained unused since…until now!

In the permit, Kentavo is listed as the contractor, who also worked on the signage for Ice Cold Hydraulics over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

We know that this lounge is set to open later this year, but as of right now, we don’t have an official opening date or name for the new location.
