5 Things That Could Permanently CLOSE at Disney World in 2025

Tons of changes are coming for Disney World in 2025, and we’re doing our best to prepare you all for them as well as we can.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Construction is hitting every single Disney World park, and the majority of it is currently scheduled to begin in 2025. If you’ve got a trip planned for the last month of 2024, or the very beginning of 2025, here are the attractions you’ll want to place emphasis on so you don’t miss them before they’re gone!

DinoLand U.S.A.

We’ve known this one was coming for a hot second now, but the first parts of DinoLand U.S.A. (Chester and Hester’s DinoRama, TriceraTop Spin, and Fossil Fun Games are scheduled to be closed for good on January 13th, 2025 (meaning the last day to experience them is January 12th), and that’s only the beginning of closures.

Chip and Dale in DinoLand

The new land going here, called Pueblo Esperanza and themed after Coco and Indiana Jones, isn’t expected to open until 2027, but we’re expecting other DinoLand closures to hit later in 2025. So your last chance to visit DinoLand exactly as it is right now is January 12th, but your last chance to experience any part of the land will likely also be in 2025.

Muppets Courtyard

This is a newer announcement, but the change is still coming — Disney recently announced that the new Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be taking the place of Muppets Courtyard.

This means that sometime in 2025, the entirety of Muppets Courtyard will close, which includes Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, Mama Melrose’s, and all the theming around that area. The Muppets will be moving over to Sunset Boulevard to still be represented in the park — we know they’ll be taking over a new retheme coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, but are waiting to hear if more Muppets theming will also be coming to Sunset Boulevard.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

This coaster has been THROUGH it the past few years, and it’s about to close AGAIN, but for a different reason this time. Instead of undergoing a months-long refurbishment, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be getting a RETHEME with the Muppets — specifically Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.

This means that the current version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will close sometime in 2025 to make way for the new version. While the ride system itself won’t be changing, the theme and music will be, so you’ll want to get one more ride in on the OG version while you can!

Liberty Square Riverboat & Tom Sawyer Island

We’re grouping these two together because they’ll both be going away together to make way for the new Cars-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom sometime in 2025.

Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions including an off-road race.

The Rivers of America will be no more in Frontierland, which also means that Tom Sawyer Island will be going away (as it’s an island) and the beloved Riverboat (since it travels on said water). In its place, an entire new land will be built that’s themed around the Pixar franchise Cars. While we don’t know tons about the plans for this area yet, we do know it’ll have two attractions — one that’s a bit more intense, and another geared towards all ages.

It’s Tough to Be A Bug

This show in Animal Kingdom is either a favorite of guests’, or they despise it and its 4D elements, there really isn’t an in between! However, this show will be going away in 2025 to make way for a NEW show!

The new show will be themed after Zootopia and is called “Zootopia: Better Zoogether” — we don’t have tons of details on it yet, but we do know it will be in the Tree of Life Theater (where It’s Tough to Be A Bug currently is), and it’s set to open the winter of 2025! It’s likely we’ll see this closure very early on in the year, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest news!
