We’re getting some BIG changes in Magic Kingdom!
We’re reporting live from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California, where Disney is making some major announcements about everything from entertainment to theme parks. And during the Disney Experiences showcase, we just got some HUGE Magic Kingdom news!
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro revealed during the showcase that a NEW area inspired by Pixar’s Cars will be coming to “a reimagined section of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.”
“The American West has always been about keeping your eyes on the horizon … believing in yourself, carving your own path, and striving toward success. That goes for miners in the mountains, bears from the country, a princess from the bayou … or a racecar from the big city,” D’Amaro told the crowd.
The updated area will feature two new Cars attractions. One will be a “thrilling rally race through the mountains. Take on wild terrain as you race across the landscape climbing mountain trails, dodging geysers and — Mater’s favorite — splashing through mudholes.”
The other attraction will be geared more towards the whole family so that “smaller racers” can enjoy it.
Work on this new space in Frontierland will begin in early 2025. We’ll be interested to learn more details.

Love this! Florida is easier for my family to travel to than Disney Land. My family would really enjoy a cars ride.
I wonder what they’ll call Frontierland now because it won’t be Frontierland anymore.
I’m worried about this. The concept art looks so similar to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which was already touted to be closing either later this year or early 2025 for renovation. Could this now be a re-theme of BTMR to Cars?
