Disney fans have been (not so) patiently waiting for Disney to officially announce where the Monsters, Inc. Land will be going in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Fans have been analyzing the concept art for months now, inspecting each and every detail to see if they can confirm the location once and for all. However, we won’t know the exact location until Disney actually announces it. But when will that be?
The Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios was officially announced at the 2024 D23 Expo. Disney revealed a few pieces of concept art for the land and stated that work on the project is expected to begin next year.

There has been a lot of speculation about where exactly this new land will be going in Hollywood Studios. There have been two main areas that have risen above the rest for potential locations, Muppets Courtyard and Animation Courtyard. However, Disney has yet to confirm where this new land will be built.

There have been some murmurings from inside sources that there was originally supposed to be concept art revealed at the D23 Expo that would confirm the new land would be replacing Muppets Courtyard. However, at the last minute, Disney decided to hold off and keep the location a secret.

A few other new lands were also announced at the 2024 D23 Expo including the Cars area of Magic Kingdom, the Villains Land in Magic Kingdom, and Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney has already announced where ALL three of these construction projects will be going, but they are not providing the same answers for the Monsters, Inc. Land.

While it may seem that time is ticking on the official announcement for the location of the Monsters, Inc. Land, it doesn’t appear that Disney is in any hurry. For starters, stating that they will begin work on it next year is very vague. That leaves a whole 12 months of possibilities, and technically, they could begin work on the new land on December 31st, 2025, and still be sticking to their timeline.

As well, with Disney, there is no telling when they will actually make the announcement. It could be as soon as tomorrow, or they could wait until construction walls start going up for the project. Or they could even wait until after that and not confirm what exactly the construction walls went up for. Basically, we have no way of knowing when Disney will announce the location for the new Monsters, Inc. Land.

We wish we could look into a crystal ball to find out, but unfortunately, we are all just waiting for an official announcement from Disney. We are hoping it will come sooner rather than later, but only time will tell!
