3 Actually Innocent Things That Will Get You in Trouble at Disney World Hotels

Staying at a Disney World hotel has so many perks and can bring you even closer to the magic.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

When you choose to stay at a Disney World resort, you get access to free transportation, which includes buses, monorails, watercraft, and the Skyliner. You also can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, where each day you can enter the theme parks 30 minutes before the general public. Those staying at Deluxe Resorts can participate in Extended Evening Hours, where different parks stay open each week for two hours after the park closes on select nights. Plus, staying at a Disney World hotel means that you can book Lightning Lane selections seven days before you arrive, whereas all others can only book three days in advance. We don’t mean to damper the excitement of staying at a Disney World hotel but instead, we want to warn you that these three innocent things could get you in trouble

Checking into your resort can be the first step in starting your vacation, and it can be so exciting when your room is finally ready. However, make sure to avoid doing these three innocent things when staying at a Disney World resort.

Don’t Hang Anything Off of Your Balcony

You may spend a day at the pool, or you may head to one of Disney’s water parks. Did you know that starting in 2025, Disney World hotel guests can visit either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach for free on their check-in day?

After a day of hitting the water park or pool, you may want to air dry towels and swimsuits, but make sure not to hang them off your balcony. They could blow away and also cause harm to the areas around it. This is especially important if you are staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Your room’s shower should have a drying line, and some resorts even have extra hooks to hang wet clothes to dry.

Don’t Order from Restaurants Who Leave Flyers Under Your Door

We have all been there; you get back from a long day at the parks, and you are starving. Sometimes, restaurants outside of Disney World will slide ads under your door with coupons

Although it is tempting to place a late-night order from one of these ads, DON’T do it! Many of these ads are scams. In most cases, your card will be charged, and your food will never come.

Don’t fall for pizza scams!

Instead, we suggest keeping snacks in your room or visiting your resort’s quick-service location for late-night snacking.

You Can No Longer Pool Hop

Although this is not a new rule, it is still important to remember. Before the rule, you could pool-hop. This meant that if you were staying at one Disney World hotel, you could go to another hotel and use their pool.

Doubloon Pool

Not all resort pools are created equal, and many people skip their resort pool and head to a cooler pool like the Lava Pool at the Polynesian Village Resort. Arguably, the coolest pool on the property is at the Yacht and Beach Club, and in order to access Stormalong Bay, you need a wristband.

Although you can no longer pool-hop resort to resort, you can still take advantage of all the pools located in your resort if there is more than one. For example, large resorts like Saratoga Springs and Old Key West have multiple pools, and as long as you are a guest at the resort, you are free to go to any of the pools that you wish.

If you are looking to spend the day at a cool pool on your trip, make sure to book a room at a resort with a desirable pool, as you will not be able to pool-hop to another resort.

  1. We make a point of ordering from the flyers but by calling, and telling them we’ll pay cash when they get there. If the food comes we make a point of remembering them!
