Hurricane Milton is on its way to Florida.
The hurricane is now a Category 4 major hurricane and is expected to make landfall along Florida’s West Coast in the next couple of days. On October 6th, Disney World restricted new hotel reservations from being made for October 8th through October 10th and stopped allowing new park pass reservations for all four parks for those who need them for October 9th. Now, Disney World has made a new update for hotel guests for this coming week.
Disney World has made a change to its hotel change and cancellation policy in preparation for Hurricane Milton. The update now states that change and cancellation fees for guests with check-in dates of October 6th through October 12th will be waived due to potential weather impacts to travel plans.
Disney states that “most room-only and vacation packages can be modified or canceled online, including changes to travel dates, without fees.” If your package included air transportation or other services provided by third parties or those with travel protection, those cannot be modified or canceled online. You’ll need to call for assistance to modify those reservations.
If you choose to continue your Disney World vacation this week, be prepared for potential park closures. Disney has not announced any closures at this time, but it’s good to be prepared just in case. If the parks do close, Disney Cast Members will accommodate you at your hotel and will likely provide extra activities and food services.
As of now, no other announcements have been made by Disney World. We’ll keep you updated as new information comes out. In the meantime, keep following AllEars.
