Why Disney Adults Are SKIPPING the Newest Disney World Ride

Disney World got two updated rides this summer.

Country Bear Musical Jamboree

Both of these updated rides just happen to be in Magic Kingdom’sFrontierland. The Country Bear Jamboree closed in January and re-opened this July with a brand new show. The new show features the Bears singing Disney tunes, and the Bears even got wardrobe updates. Just a few steps away from the Country Bear Jamboree, Splash Mountain closed last May to be re-themed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Visitors of Magic Kingdom have been able to go down the Bayou with Tiana and all her friends since June, but is the ride still as popular as it was when it opened?

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was struggling during its preview season; it took our team multiple tries to get to ride it since it kept breaking down. Regardless, on opening day, Virtual Queue filled up super quickly, and people were excited to ride the new ride.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Well, Tiana’a Bayou Adventure has been open for three months, and we wanted to know if people are still obsessed with the ride or if they choose to skip it now. So, of course, we reached out to some Disney fans—you are amazing readers—to see what you thought about the new ride.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Some readers really enjoy the new attraction. One reader said that it is an absolute must-ride, and another recommended riding it because they enjoy it a lot!

Another reader shared that they just rode the attraction for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was amazing; weather permitting, it is a must-do!

Other readers did not share the same enthusiasm. A reader shared that they “absolutely LOVED Splash Mountain. It was always a must-do for our family. I was sad to see it go when the re-theme was announced, but I was excited for Tiana! I just rode it in July for the 1st time, and honestly, it’s no longer a must-do. I am very disappointed in the re-theme. It could have been amazing. Instead, it feels jumbled and rushed.” Another reader said, “Skip, no interest at all!”

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Currently, the only way to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is to secure a Virtual Queue or snag a Lightning Lane for the attraction, but there is a standby line for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. One reader who went to the party said that they had the opportunity to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure once during the party, and they said the attraction was not enough for them. They went on to say that the attraction is definitely not a must-do; if there is no line, they would maybe ride, but otherwise, it’s a pass for them.

On the other hand, people skip riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure not because they do not like the theme but rather because they have always skipped the attraction, even when it was Splash Mountain.

One reader said they will always skip it because they hate getting wet on rides. Another reader said, “Skip, but I did not care for the ride before, so the theming does not change that.”

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

While many people have yet to experience the attraction, many readers are skipping it for multiple reasons. We will keep an eye out if Tiana’s Bayou Adventure follows in the footsteps of TRON Lightcycle / Run and ditches Virtual Queue.

  1. This was one of the highlights for me at Mickey’s not so scary. I can’t imagine waiting in the Florida heat too long but I absolutely loved the re-theme. I was wary at first because I have a lot of nostalgic feelings tied to Splash Mountain but the bayou village, the cold of the cave(despite the gulf being caveless) and them pumping in beignet smells set a good tone. Once I got on the ride, the animation and the top tier animations made me not miss Splash Mountain at all. It felt like a longer, much wetter ride despite being the same track system. The only thing I miss are the giant thorns but the flowers and monstera is so beautiful. I don’t usually put my hands in the air and I did for the first time on this ride. I’m not the biggest PatF fan but this made me appreciate elements of the movie more.

  2. The teaser photo used is of The Great Texas Longhorn Review, a show inspired by Disney’s Country Bear Jamboree, but produced by Gary Goddard productions. This show ran at the no longer existing Astroworld park, of Houston, TX.
