HOLD UP. Is a NEW RESTAURANT Hidden in the Hollywood Studios Expansion?

As I’m sure you know, one of the biggest announcements that came out of Disney’s D23 Ultimate Fan Event was that a full Monsters, Inc. land is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

While Disney gave us just a tease of what’s to come in this new land like Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster, they also may have dropped a BIG hint in their concept art for the land about a potential new restaurant in the works.

During the D23 event, Disney shared two pieces of concept art showcasing the new Monsters, Inc. Land. Now, we know what you’re thinking, “Concept art? That’s just drawings, right?” WRONG. Disney LOVES sneaking in details that eagle-eyed fans can decode, and trust us, there’s something very interesting hidden in plain sight.

So, here’s the deal. In both pieces of concept art, we spotted a certain structure that feels a bit all-too-familiar to Monsters, Inc. fans. Let’s have a look at the first image. Specifically pay close attention to the top right-hand corner.

Something very similar pops up in the second concept art image in the bottom left-hand corner.

Now what does that eyeball and chopsticks remind us of?? Harryhausen’s!!

You know, the swanky Japanese restaurant from Monsters, Inc.! You remember the scene, right? Mike Wazowski takes Celia Mae there for her birthday and then Sulley barges in, Boo in tow, and chaos erupts.

While the dinner doesn’t exactly go as planned, one thing is clear. This restaurant is THE place to be in Monstropolis.

Now, Disney hasn’t confirmed anything officially, but it sure looks like we’re getting a themed restaurant and what could be more perfect than Harryhausen’s? Also, the fact that we see that eyeball structure from the restaurant in the movie seems to be so much more than just a coincidence.

Imagine getting to walk into a restaurant that’s straight out of Monsters, Inc. complete with monster-themed sushi rolls, Goo-Tofu appetizers, and maybe even some Howling Hamachi.

So, while we’re still waiting for official confirmation, the concept art definitely has us hopeful. Until then, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest on this upcoming Hollywood Studios expansion.
