If You Think You’re Having a Bad Day, At Least THIS Didn’t Happen to You at Disney World

While Disney World is known as the Most Magical Place on Earth, that might not ALWAYS be the case.

If you’ve ever had a less-than-perfect moment at Disney World, just know — you’re definitely not alone. Even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, things can (and do) go wrong sometimes. From flat tires to flying wildlife, our readers have seen it all — and shared some of their more chaotic moments with us.

Lauren told us about getting a flat tire during her trip, but luckily, Disney’s Car Care Center made the whole situation way less stressful. “Super easy,” she said. The Car Care Center is a full-service automotive facility that offers auto repairs, roadside assistance, and car rentals for Guests of Walt Disney World Resort. You do have to pay for the repairs, but it’s nice that it’s conveniently on property!

Some of these stories are less “convenient” and more… wild animal attack. Robert shared that a duck once flew into the side of his wife’s head. “It was hilarious to me, but she was mad…lol.” (We’re not sure if she’s laughing about it yet, Robert.) Megan had her own bird run-in — except this one left a much less subtle mark: “A bird pooped right on my head. I’ve never seen my brother laugh harder.” They didn’t care much that you were trying to enjoy your Disney snack in peace, did they?

Of course, it’s not all birds and breakdowns. Lauren recalled a particularly painful moment during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, when she hit her knee getting off Space Mountain and ended up dislocating it. Yikes. Be careful while unloading from a ride vehicle!

And then there are the emotional horror stories — like Richelle’s, whose son briefly got separated from her in the Dino Dig play area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Thankfully, he did exactly what he’d been taught: went to a Cast Member, explained where he’d last seen his mom, and was safely reunited shortly after. Friendly reminder: teach your kiddos to find a Cast Member if they ever get separated.

Also, are some of you okay, because the number of readers who told us they had been thrown up on by a total stranger at Disney World was alarming. We know Cosmic Rewind can disorient you, but that’s a lot more than we were bargaining for. So, if your Dole Whip melted before you could eat it, or you didn’t get the Lightning Lane time slot you were hoping for… just remember, at least a duck didn’t fly into your face. And no one vomited on your shoes — hopefully.

  1. Bed bugs at a Moderate Disney world resort. And an illness with a fever that kicked in while on the same trip. (Still had a wonderful trip and tons of fun!)

  2. Something we did when my son was younger was to attach a key chain to his belt loop with our cell numbers. This way when he found a cast member they could call us
