The Newest Lounge Will CHANGE Magic Kingdom’s Rules

Magic Kingdom is shaking things up with its latest dining addition.

Pirates of the Caribbean

The Beak and Barrel is a NEW Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge coming to Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland. While themed lounges aren’t particularly new to the Disney Parks, this one will mark an important shift at “The Most Magical Place on Earth!”

As far as Magic Kingdom is concerned, there has yet to be a lounge at the park that serves alcohol…until now.

It’s now official — The Beak and Barrel WILL serve alcohol.

The official Disney World website page for The Beak and Barrel reads, “Guests must be 21 years of age or over to consume alcohol; valid photo ID is required. There is a maximum of 2 drinks per Guest.”

This announcement is significant, as Magic Kingdom (up to this point) has ONLY served alcohol at table-service restaurants (Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, The Crystal Palace, The Diamond Horseshoe, Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, Liberty Tree Tavern, The Plaza Restaurant, and Tony’s Town Square Restaurant).

Also listed on the website is the reminder that drinks cannot be taken outside of the park, and a limit of 2 drinks per person will be implemented.

Similar to Oga’s Cantina in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, parties are limited to 45 minutes to combat limited capacity.

No doubt, this tavern would’ve been popular without having to serve beer and cocktails, but the fact that it will do so means it will likely boom with business. Advanced dining reservations are highly recommended.

Per the lounge’s official lore, we know that it will be “run by Captain Meridian ‘Merry’ Goldwyn, and her talkative first mate, Rummy.” Rummy is the tavern’s quartermaster bird, and he might even host a toast or two!

We also know that the main section of the lounge will be called “The Mess”, offering large tables anchored by a large bar. A smaller section of the lounge will be called the Captain’s Quarters.
