ALERT: Lightning Lane Prices Are DROPPING in Disney World This Month

In case you missed it, Genie+ is no more — as of July 24th the paid skip-the-line service is called Lightning Lane Multi Pass while Individual Lightning Lane is called Lightning Lane Single Pass!

Lightning Lane Multi Pass

It’s not just the name that changed — the new system looks very similar to FastPass+ because you can book Lightning Lane reservations BEFORE your trip. That means we’re keeping track of the prices for Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass days in advance. And we’ve noticed a day when the price for these systems DROPS dramatically!

Like Genie+, the new Lightning Lane system uses surge pricing, so each day can have a different price for the four parks and the Single Pass rides. When you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass you buy it for the park you plan to start in and then you can make your reservations. This also enables you to Park Hop and make reservations for the other parks as well.

Since some days are more expensive than others, we were pretty excited to see a drop in pricing for one day in September! On September 29th, every park drops in price for Lightning Lane Multi Pass with Magic Kingdom dropping a whole $7 from the previous day. The prices for Lightning Lane Multi Pass for September 29th are as follows:

Tree of Life

Every Lightning Lane Single Pass except TRON Lightcycle / Run also drops in price this day. The Lightning Lane Single Pass prices for September 29th are as follows:

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

There are a few other days in September that have lower prices. For example, September 5th, 6th, 10th, and 15th all are $23 for the Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Typically, we saw Genie+ go up on days Disney expected to be busy and down on slower days. We expect this same trend to continue with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. So days like Thanksgiving and Christmas Day will likely be more expensive than other days to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

Disney Resort hotel guests and other select hotels will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance. So if you’re day to begin booking Lightning Lanes is approaching, you may want to check out the prices leading up to it. It may give you a rough idea of how much you’ll be paying per day for the service.
