Can you believe that your 2025 Disney World trip is almost here??

As we were saying, you’re going to blink and 2025 will be here, so you’ve really got to jump on all those preparations like what you’ll be packing, what you’ll be chowing down on, and where you’re going to rest your head! Speaking of your accommodations, we do have some critical Disney World hotel warnings for you to watch out for in 2025! Let’s go over them!
As we were saying, when it comes to your hotel, there are some crucial warnings you need to watch out for in 2025!
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be undergoing an extensive room refurbishment from September 2024 to September 2025. (Yes, you read that right — a whole year of construction!)

During that timeframe, you’ll still be able to book the resort, but times and rooms could be limited. Also, guests staying at Bay Lake Tower will hear and see construction throughout the day, and certain parts of the resort may not be open meaning you might have to take detours.
Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will also be undergoing room refurbishment from January 2025 to May 2025. At the moment, it’s a bit unclear how extensive the work will be, but we’ll keep you updated.

Also, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool, which are shared by both Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, will undergo routine maintenance from January 2025 to June 2025. During the daytime, guests staying at this resort can expect to hear construction noises.

During the closure, you will still be able to swim at the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
While we’re on the topic of pools, the Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will undergo routine maintenance from January 2025 to June 2025.

During the refurbishment, you will still be able to enjoy the Duck Pond Pool.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
While we know that the Island Village Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows will open in December 2024, construction around the resort will continue long after this new addition opens.

Disney shared that the construction will continue from now until 2026, which means that if you’re going to be staying at the Polynesian Village Resort, you can expect to here construction noise during the daytime. Also, those pristine views we’re used to may also be blocked as a consequence of the construction.

We also wanted to go over a couple of extra tips especially if you’re still deciding on which room to get.
The Preferred Room
At resorts like Pop Century, All-Star Movies, and Art of Animation, you’ll notice there’s an extra fee tacked onto rooms labeled “preferred,” and while preferred sounds enticing, is it worth the price bump? That depends.

For starters, preferred rooms typically mean you’re closer to main amenities like the food court, pool, or transportation options, which might not sound like a big deal until you’ve spent a long day at the parks and realize your standard room is a 10-minute walk from the hotel main entrance.
As an example, let’s have a look at what you’ll likely be paying extra for:
-
- Pop Century: For the off-season, the up-charge for a preferred room is around $40 more per day. However, if you’re planning your stay during the holidays, that jumps to about $60 per day. And, as you can imagine, right now, a lot of preferred rooms are already sold out for the most popular dates.
- All-Star Movies: Now, it’s a bit more budget-friendly here, with an up-charge of around $25 per day, just depending on your travel dates.

Keep in mind that the standard rooms at All-Star Resorts typically sell out faster than the preferred ones, which means if you’re hoping to save a little by going for a standard room, you’ll want to book those ASAP. Now, over at Pop Century, the opposite is happening. The preferred rooms are the ones disappearing quicker.
Proximity to Disney’s Skyliner
Another factor to consider is how close you are to Disney’s Skyliner. If you’re unfamiliar with the Skyliner, it’s Disney’s gondola system that connects several Disney resorts (like Pop Century and Caribbean Beach) to parks like EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

If you’re staying in a preferred room at resorts like Art of Animation or Caribbean Beach, that means you’ll have quicker access to the Skyliner, which can save you a ton of time especially if you’re trying to rope drop one of the parks or just make it in time to that Lightning Lane reservation.

Just remember that the convenience comes with a price. On the other hand, if you’re cool with a little extra walking and want to save some room in the budget for other experiences, then you might be better off snagging a standard room.

“If you’re staying in a preferred room at resorts like Art of Animation or Caribbean Beach, that means you’ll have quicker access to the Skyliner.”
Unless Disney complete changed what are the preferred rooms at CBR, this statement is not accurate. In fact many standards rooms in the Jamaica and Aruba “villages” are the closest to the Skyliner as you can get, at least as of a couple of years ago unless they’ve changed which rooms are considered preferred. They had been the rooms closest to the main resort building, Port Royale, which is not actually near the Skyliner stations.
